1. Agreement

These Terms of Use govern your use of the Enjoy Retirement Together website and couples assessment (the "Services"), operated by Enjoy Retirement Together ("we," "us"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Services.

2. What the Services are, and aren't

The Services help couples think through and talk about the retirement life they want: where they'll live, how they'll spend their time, and what matters to each of them. They are educational tools for conversation.

The Services are not professional advice. Nothing on this site is investment, financial, tax, legal, or medical advice, and it is not counseling or therapy. For decisions in those areas, consult a qualified professional who knows your situation.

If conflict in your relationship is affecting daily life, please talk with a licensed counselor. If you or someone you know is in crisis in the U.S., call or text 988. In an emergency, call 911.

3. AI-generated comparisons

Your comparison is generated by an artificial intelligence service based on the answers you and your partner provide. It may be incomplete or wrong, and it can't know everything about your relationship. Use it as a starting point for conversation, and use your own judgment about any decision.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Services.

5. Your account

Give accurate information when you register, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has accessed your account. You're responsible for activity under your account.

6. Inviting your partner

When you invite your partner, you confirm that they know you're inviting them and agree to receive the invitation email. Your partner creates their own account and agrees to these Terms separately. Each of you answers privately, and neither of you can see the other's answers until you've both finished. After that, you both see the comparison.

7. Membership and payment

Current membership options and prices are shown on our membership page. One membership covers both partners.

If you have a problem with a purchase, contact us and we will work with you to resolve it.

8. Emails

We'll send emails you need to use the Services, such as invitations, password resets, and notices that your comparison is ready. We'll send updates about the book and site only if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

9. Your answers belong to you

You keep ownership of what you write. You give us permission to store and process your answers only as needed to provide the Services to you and your partner, including sending them to our AI service provider to create your comparison. We don't publish your answers or use them in marketing.

10. Our content

The site's content, including the Retirement Together framework, text, graphics, and the book Enjoy Retirement Together, belongs to its authors and is protected by copyright. You may print or save your own results for personal use. Please don't copy, redistribute, or resell our content without written permission.

11. Acceptable use

Please don't:

  • Use the Services for anything illegal, or to harass or harm anyone
  • Invite someone who hasn't agreed to receive the invitation
  • Try to access another person's account or answers
  • Interfere with, overload, or try to break into the site or its servers
  • Use automated tools to scrape or copy the site

12. Third-party links

Links to other sites, such as Amazon for the book, are provided for convenience. We're not responsible for those sites.

13. Ending your use

You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms. Deleting an account deletes its answers, as described in our Privacy Policy.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. WE DON'T GUARANTEE ANY PARTICULAR OUTCOME FOR YOUR RETIREMENT OR YOUR RELATIONSHIP.

15. Limitation of liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE ARE NOT LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR DECISIONS YOU MAKE BASED ON THE SERVICES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR $50 IF YOU PAID NOTHING. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

16. Indemnification

You agree to cover reasonable losses and costs, including attorneys' fees, that we incur because you violated these Terms or misused the Services.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.

18. Changes to these Terms

If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date and notify registered users by email before the changes take effect. Continuing to use the Services after that means you accept the updated Terms.

19. General

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. These Terms and our Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Services.
